about

One day my homie Damn Selene, who lives in every part of the USA and raps, said to me hey let's rap on something together so we don't quit rap? So I went into the Spare Oom and made a beat.

I sampled a couple of records, then bitcrushed them into oblivion to see if I could get results as good as Mikal kHill - whom I have been envying recently.

When I needed to beef up the percussion, I played tambourine and sampled myself smacking up a lap snare (it's a snare drum, but in your lap! wild right??). The kick is one of those classically modulated sine waves.

At the end of 2013 I bought a Yamaha CS01 monosynth and I'm just now recording it in a rap beat for the first time!

Sprinkled as seasoning over the track are:
- scratches of singles by ONYX and Robyn
- samples of cartoons & science fiction
- tiny snippets from that awesome CRWN interview with Nicki Minaj

And then yeah boom it's a song, enjoy!

You can download the main version of the track for free, and if you download the whole single you get the instrumental and the a capella so you can make a remix or something. The BPM is 92.

OK thanks for everything! <3
