The literary companion to the "Slept Through A Landslide" single. 22 7x7" B+W pages of essays, fiction, comics, poetry, and images, plus a full-colour wraparound cover illustrated & lettered by cartoonist Even Dahm (Rice Boy, Vattu, Order of Tales).
Contributors to the zine's content include Krista Muir, Brzowski, HW, Nicolas Carrier, Joyce MacDonald, Jennifer Dales, Meghan Lands, Shannon Fisher, and Jesse wrote a ton of stuff, too.
The first run was produced in August 2012, in a desperate scramble to merch up for FanExpo and the No Friends US tour in September. They all sold out in person, so this is the first time they've been available to STRANGERS on internet. Wow!
Includes immediate download of 4-track album in your choice of high-quality MP3, FLAC, or just about any other format you could possibly desire.

This single is free to all, but Pay What You Can is enabled because I could use every bit of support possible - it cost me a lot of money to create and release even this digital single, and I'm counting on support from my fans to help me break even. Thanks so much for understanding!

about
This single is a remix of "Tired Angels" by Krista Muir. The beat was built by M Mac, with other musical elements contributed by Peter Project, Jeff Ngan, and me. I creatively directed the whole thing and it made me feel like a mixture of James Lavelle and Kanye West.
I asked my friend and colleague of nearly 13 years, Noah 23, to rap on it with me - there was a special urgency because it was the end of 2011 and he had announced he was quitting music at the end of the year. We had tried a few times to work together before but technical & timing issues plagued our language... so this felt like my last chance.
He came through, and although it makes me really sad to think of him feeling the despair that he describes in his verse, he captured it beautifully. I'm so glad that he not only did me the honour of appearing, but of killing me on my own shit. Ouch.
There are many things to say about the themes and ideas in this song, but I'm not going to write them here. I've written them in a zine that's serves as a companion to the single, which also includes short fiction and memoirs and comics and illustrations and other pertinent works by friends of mine. You can order that here!
For now just listen closely, and figure out what you think it all adds up to.
And take care of yourself.
